If full time Walmart employees need government assistance programs to afford food and pay their rent, is it not Walmart who is leaning on government assistance?

  • I’m one of the messier people here (male), and I wonder if it’s because I think of cleaning as an efficiency thing. Like walking around and getting it all at once is quicker per item than taking each thing to the kitchen individually. The cleanliness does bother me, but not that much unless I don’t have enough surface area to do what I need to do at any given time, which is when I clean it all at once. It’s highly bases on the inconvenience of the space and hardly on the appearance unless I have guests.

  • Obama did win, and it was for his commitments to green energy and climate change. It’s widely considered bad to award people before they follow through to the end, especially for the nobel committee. I think they were trying to use it as further motivation to keep those commitments, but if anything it’s usually the opposite… at least when they give them to sociopath politicians. Could definitely be worse than Obama though.

Edit: Reading more on it, it looks like it was also for nuclear non-proliferation. I guess both are pretty valid awards for Obama, even if he could have done far more, especially in his first two years.

  • Including themselves as mandatory in the service isn’t exactly a win for right to repair. Dell batteries cost us about 65 dollars or less and they ship them directly to us with no certification requirements. They also offer extended warranties up to 3 years on batteries and 5 years on components.

  • Artificial stem cells seem like the next thing to really revolutionize medicine.

Quantum computers for brute force hacks seems doable in 100.

Eye tracking pointer devices will likely be more convenient than mice within a dozen or two years. This will probably be widely available for people who are paralyzed first.

Diamond processors are always 10 years away, but I think we can do it in 100. This would revolutionize the amount of power we can put through a chip without worrying about cooling.

Quick charge capacitor replacements for standard rechargble batteries

Low yield fusion plants. I’d like to think of them as capable of high yield, but it’s much harder than initially thought. Some ideas are quite promising for low yield.
